When designing country house kitchens, many aspects have to be taken into consideration. What is your lifestyle? Do you have an abundance of home produce that will pass through the kitchen? Do you enjoy baking, fruit picking and conserving, or perhaps, bread making? Do you have children and enjoy cooking together? To design the perfect kitchen to suit your lifestyle, these are a few of many questions we would ask.
This beautiful bespoke kitchen was built for a Grade II Listed country house located in the heart of the Suffolk countryside. Undergoing extensive refurbishment, this country house was destined to become a wonderful getaway venue with accommodation to suit parties of up to 28 people, and adjacent, a medieval barn to host various events. We were invited to design and build a kitchen to fill a huge space that would be suitable for both large and small parties of guests, to feel comfortable and at home in.
Very often, our clients undertake challenging projects to refurbish or renovate beautiful period properties. This requires a sympathetic design for these country house kitchens that will suit the architecture of the building as well as the lifestyle of the client, being both functional and aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
Local grown timber is used for our country house kitchens. By using this resource, we are helping woodland sustainability and also our clients can be assured that the highest quality materials are being utilised for their country house kitchen project. Traditional shaker style country house kitchens can be ‘jazzed’ up to bring together many elements of design, creating an eclectic mix of countryside charm combined with all the mod-cons!
