When looking for bespoke kitchens in London, Luxmoore & Co offer a truly bespoke kitchen design service and all of their furniture is handmade at their Suffolk workshop. Bespoke kitchens from Luxmoore & Co are totally unique and designed individually to suit the personality of the client and their home, as well as being sympathetic to the surrounding architecture.
The bespoke kitchen in this article has been made for a family home in Hampstead, London. Luxmoore & Co were commissioned to design & build a bespoke kitchen as well as furniture for other rooms of the home including utility room cupboards, furniture for niches in the living room, fitted hallway cupboards, wardrobes, window seats, a dining table and a home cinema.
When designing this bespoke kitchen in London, great care was taken to ensure there was enough storage for a growing family and to create a space where the family could gather together as well as entertain grown up friends. The kitchen door frames and panels are made in English ash that has been responsibly sourced from local Suffolk woodlands. The inside of the cupboards are made from high quality lacquered birch plywood which is very durable and easy to keep clean.
The worktops and splashbacks are Silestone ‘Lagoon Suede’ by Consetino. There is a stainless steel undermounted sink, Perin & Rowe ‘Metis’ 3-way tap in pewter (satin nickel) providing hot / cold / filtered cold water and a Quooker ‘Design’ mini tap, in stainless steel effect, offering boiling water. The handles are from English company Armac Martin who have their foundry in Birmingham. They are made from solid brass which has been sand cast and then powder coated in a satin nickel finish.
For this bespoke kitchen in London, the client wanted to achieve a more traditional look and therefore chose to have ovolo mouldings and cock beading on their doors and drawer fronts and painted in Little Greene Company ‘Shirting’ No.129. The kitchen space lent itself to having an area for tall units, where two Miele ovens, a larder with drawers under and a china cupboard was incorporated. The drawers, spice racks and part of the larder internals are made from English chestnut. The drawers are dovetailed and oiled to bring out the natural beauty of the wood, and have been put onto Blum soft close runners which sit underneath the drawers so all you see when you open them is gorgeous drawer boxes rather than the open / closing mechanism.
On the opposite side of the kitchen is a bespoke table with matching stone table top and a long window seat with hand made leather upholstery.
